Community engagement is necessary for a healthy life however, individuals with disabilities may find opportunities for social and economic participation in society few and far between. This is where NDIS comes in with the Social and Community Participation Support. For eligible participants funding can be used to cover the costs associated with supporting you to engage in community, social or economic activities.
This support enables you to take on an active role in your local community and thereby empowering you to pursue your goals. Forrest Personnel Mentors can support you to make meaningful opportunities relating to participating in community, social or recreational activities including:
- Getting ready for social and community participation: How can you get ready to participate in your community and what supports are available to build your confidence and skills.
- Connecting with social and community activities: Supports that can help you get involved with people and activities in the community.
- Staying connected with social and community activities: How you can stay connected to your social and community activities when you go through different life stages.
